Help & FAQ

Questions about Activ.run?

Pricing, free features, Garmin and Strava sync, GPS running, gym tracking, privacy, and accounts — answered.

Pricing & paywall

Is Activ.run free?

Yes. The core of both modes — GPS run tracking, pace, distance, heart-rate zones, and gym logging — is free, with no subscription wall.

What's paid vs free?

The everyday features you train with are free. The app is new and the core is intentionally not gated; there's no premium tier required to track your runs and lifts.

Do I need a subscription for core features?

No. Core running and gym tracking work without any subscription.

Running

Does it track GPS, pace, and heart rate?

Yes — live pace and distance from GPS, plus Bluetooth heart-rate support with a five-zone breakdown.

Can I sync Garmin?

Yes. Connect Garmin to pull in your runs, or import FIT files from any major brand.

Can I import Strava runs?

Yes. Strava integration is supported so your existing history can come with you.

Can I import FIT files?

Yes — FIT files from Garmin, Coros, Suunto, and Wahoo all import through one pipeline.

Can I sync Polar?

Yes. Connect Polar in Integrations and your runs sync automatically — no manual export needed.

Do my old Polar runs import?

Runs from the last 30 days are imported once when you connect. New runs sync automatically going forward.

What Polar data is imported?

GPS route, heart rate, pace and splits, distance, duration, calories, cadence, and elevation — from each run's FIT file.

Gym

Does it track sets, reps, and PRs?

Yes. Log sets and reps in seconds, with automatic PR detection and full exercise history.

Can I add custom exercises?

Yes. Add your own exercises and variations alongside the built-in library.

Does it help with progressive overload?

Yes. Previous performance stays visible, and volume and estimated 1RM trends show progress even when a top set stalls.

Trust & setup

Is my data private?

Your training data is yours. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Do I need an account?

Onboarding is minimal — you can start tracking quickly without a heavy setup process.

Is there an onboarding wall?

No. There's no setup wall between opening the app and logging your first run or set.

Is it Android only right now?

Yes. Activ.run is live on Google Play; iOS isn't available yet.

Health Connect & data sync

Why is my route map missing from Health Connect runs?

Health Connect supports GPS route data, but some watch brands — notably Samsung — choose not to sync it. This isn't an Activ.run bug; the data was never written to Health Connect by your watch. A direct integration (Polar, Garmin, or upcoming COROS) gives you full route maps.

Why is elevation data missing?

Same reason: Health Connect has an elevation record type, but Samsung Health doesn't write to it. Garmin does sync elevation via Health Connect. For full elevation data from any brand, connect directly through Integrations.

Why is cadence missing?

Both Garmin and Samsung exclude cadence from what they send to Health Connect — Garmin explicitly, Samsung by omission. Cadence is available through direct Polar and Garmin integrations.

Can I get running-form metrics (ground contact time, vertical oscillation, stride length)?

No — not through Health Connect or any integration. These data types don't exist in Health Connect's data model at all, so no vendor can expose them through it. This is a platform ceiling, not a vendor choice.

Is this an Activ.run limitation?

No. The gaps are caused by vendor decisions about what to sync to Health Connect, and in some cases by Health Connect's own data model not supporting certain metrics. Activ.run reads everything that's available.

How do I get the full set of run data?

Connect your watch brand directly — Polar and Garmin integrations are live, with COROS coming soon. Direct integrations bypass Health Connect entirely and pull data from the vendor's own API, including route, elevation, and cadence. See the full vendor breakdown in our Health Connect guide.

Still deciding? Just try it.

The core is free and there's no setup wall. Free on Google Play.
